Question by cream: Should a baby shower be held before or after the baby arrives?
My family traditionally holds the shower after, just to ensure the baby arrives with no problems and so people have a chance to see him/her. My husbands family and friends and it seems like many others hold the shower before so the parents to be will have the things they need when the baby comes. I was just wondering what the tradition is around other areas?

We always hold it 3-4 weeks before the baby is due. Mine is actually tonight.
You could always have two separate ones, one from each side of the family.

I am attending a family baby shower in a of couple weeks and was wondering about the average number of attendees for baby showers. What is the etiquette regarding the time length of the shower when you are expecting 30 attendees..?

My first baby shower,12 people attended and it lasted for an hour and a half.
The second one,which my boyfriend’s mom planned,there were around 20 people and it lasted an hour or two.
It really just depends on what all you want to do.
